I have recently discovered that I enjoy writing poems. My own personal style is to construct rhyming verse that tells a short story from daily life. Anyone who writes poems has their own personal style in terms of both format and content. In my spare time I enjoy constructing verse that tells a story from daily life that is often humorous but might also be poignant or simply thought-provoking.

Everyday Tales of Older Women in their Prime was published by Quadrant Books in March 2024. This compilation was initially inspired by the women who contributed to Sixty Somethings.

The lives of women who remember the Sixties. Once I had the idea in mind, I continued to write from my own imagination. Older women may be getting on, but most are definitely not yet past it.

It was fun writing these poems.

Online Poetry Group

I am part of a small online group of similar-minded people who like the challenge of poetry. Every month we have twelve randomly-generated words to be included in a poem. There are no other rules.

If anyone is interested in joining this group, do please get in touch.
